Title Amendment 20 to Newcastle Local Environmental Plan 2012- Part A of PP_2014_NEWCA_006_00
Summary The amendment to Newcastle LEP 2012 seeks to:- introduce local provisions which enable Council 'civic works and facilities' to be carried out without the need for development consent and certain development by Council with development consent (Item 1); - amend LEP mapping anomalies on certain land in Shortland, The Junction, Wallsend, Tighes Hill and Newcastle (Items 2-6); and- introduce local exempt development provisions relating to 'Temporary promotional banners' (Item 7).BACKGROUNDThese amendments originally formed Part A of Planning Proposal PP_2014_NEWCA_006, which was split into two parts. Part B (heritage matters) of the proposal progressed separately as Amendment 13 on 8 July 2016. The progression of Part A matters were delayed as some items were seen to be controversial and Item 1 was subject to an agency objection.Part A is currently with the Department for finalisation. This draft LEP will finalise Part A as Amendment 20 to Newcastle LEP 2012.
